About Central Baptist Association
"The harvest is so great but the workers are so few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask Him to send out more workers for His fields." Matthew 9:37-38 (NLT)
Central Wisconsin. What comes to mind when you think of this beautiful area? Scenic landscapes, state government, campus life, sports traditions, dairy farms? More than 1.2 million people live in the 17 counties of our association, and many of them are unchurched.
Because we live in such a challenging area, we need help in the area of prayer, people, and provisions. Would you consider praying for our ministries? Are there ministry teams you can send to strengthen our churches? What can God materially provide through you?!
Mission Statement
Plant and develop prevailing churches.
Core Values
These are the core values that should guide our united labor as we plant and develop prevailing churches.
INTERDEPENDENCE. We desire to lead our churches and our association as a whole to treasure a healthy, interactive interdependence. We will have to move from dependence to independence to interdependence. This interdependence should be characterized by active participation, positive contribution, and networking for encouragement, communication, and oneness. Eph 4:11-16
MULTIPLICATION. We treasure the Great Commission. We want to express this value through disciplining new believers to stability and maturity in their faith, training and equipping believers for effective ministry, planting new and prevailing churches, and effectively recruiting and equipping new church planters. Matt 28:18-20
EXCELLENCE. We aspire to carry out our ministry to the Lord, the church, and the world around us with authenticity, whole-heartedness, and passion. Col 3:23
A Community of Faith
Since its organization in 1845 in Augusta, Georgia, the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) has grown to over 16 million members who worship in more than 42,000 churches in the United States. Southern Baptists sponsor about 5,000 home missionaries serving the United States, Canada, Guam and the Caribbean, as well as sponsoring more than 5,000 foreign missionaries in 153 nations of the world.
The term "Southern Baptist Convention" refers to both the denomination and its annual meeting. Working through 1,200 local associations and 41 state conventions and fellowships, Southern Baptists share a common bond of basic Biblical beliefs and a commitment to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the entire world.
You become a Southern Baptist by uniting with a Southern Baptist church, one in friendly cooperation with the general Southern Baptist enterprise of reaching the world for Christ. Typically church membership is a matter of accepting Jesus as your Savior and Lord and experiencing believer's baptism by immersion.
